Top 5 Epic Bollywood movies

The world of Bollywood is limitless, year on year we have so many movies. Some go unnoticed while some do make their mark and then there are some which leave us touched in a different way altogether. These movies transcend the boundary of time and we can watch them any number of times.  Whether you are a movie buff or not, there is no doubt that you haven’t watched these movies more than once.

Read on to find out the movies we are talking about.

Mother India

This epic melodramatic saga charmed the audiences and stirred a sense of patriotism. It struck a chord with the audiences and was India’s first shortlist to the Oscars in the ‘Best Foreign Film’ category.

Mughal-E Azam

This 1960 saga inspired by the real life story of Salim and Anarkali really interested the audiences. What was most striking was the fact that a lot of attention was given to the detailing. The acting, direction, choreography was very striking and the masses remembered this one for a long time.

Sholay

The celebrated Jai, Veeru and Thakur saga are undoubtedly one of the most epic movies from the B Town stable. Whether it’s the characterization of Gabbar Singh or the famous dialogues, you just can’t ignore this one. Each character had a specific identity in Sholay and what’s more it told a story in the typical Bollywood way. But we advise you to steer clear of the not so epic remake, “Ram Gopal Verma ki Aag”.

Andaz Apna Apna

This surely tickled the funny bone of one and all. And we loved this one for being the mother of all comedy of errors. It had sweet performances by all the actors and what made the movie worthwhile was the comic timing.

There are after all, very few Indian comedy movies which can make you laugh insanely every time you watch them.

Dilwale Dulhaniya Lejayenge (DDLJ)

Whether it’s the innocence of Simran or the mischief of the Raj, this is one movie every romantic swears by. You cannot watch this movie just once; it is made to be watched again and again. This one clearly transcends time and will remain as beautiful as ever. So much so that Maratha Mandir in Bombay still plays DDLJ and people still come to watch the love story of Simran and Raj again and again.

If you have missed any of them, then go and watch them now!
